West Milton Council Announces
Wastewater Treatment Plant public meeting
The Village of West Milton invites residents to attend a public presentation about the future of our wastewater system. The presentation will take place after the regular Town Council meeting on Tuesday, September 9 at 6:30 PM at Village Hall.
West Milton’s wastewater treatment plant, which handles all the sewage and water from homes and businesses, was built in 1965 and last upgraded in 1992. While it’s still working today, many parts of the system—especially the electrical controls—are outdated and urgently need replacement. Other parts of the plant are also showing signs of wear and tear.
In the coming years, clean water rules are expected to become stricter, and our current system won’t be able to meet those new standards without major improvements.
To help plan for the future, the Village hired Wessler Engineering, a firm based in Bluffton, Ohio, to study our options. Their evaluation looks at ways to upgrade the current plant and also explores regional partnerships that could help us manage wastewater more efficiently and cost-effectively.
Wessler Engineering welcomes comments and questions from the public and will be available at the meeting to share their findings and hear feedback from residents.
We encourage everyone to attend and learn more about the challenges we face and the possible solutions being considered.
